UTS furniture inspection services in China check sampled products against your approved specifications, drawings and packing requirements. The agreed scope can cover dimensions, workmanship, assembly, function, labeling and packaging. Findings help your team decide what needs correction before shipment.
Use these categories as a starting point. The checklist should follow your actual product, intended use and purchase requirements.

Tables, cabinets, shelving and flat-pack products. Focus on dimensions, surface finish, joints and component matching.
Chairs, stools and upholstered pieces. Review assembly, seams, fabric appearance and agreed functional checks.
Frames, legs and mixed-material assemblies. Check weld appearance, coating, alignment and fastening points.
Outdoor seating and tables. Review construction, finish, fittings and packing; define any weathering tests separately.
A useful furniture inspection checklist starts with the product and the buyer’s requirements. Confirm the checks, methods and acceptance criteria before the visit.

Compare overall dimensions, component sizes, color, material identifiers and model configuration with approved drawings and samples. Record the measurement method and tolerance for each critical dimension.
Evidence to record: Recorded dimensions, specification references and any deviations.
Assemble selected units using the supplied instructions and fittings. Check hole alignment, hardware quantity, part identification, fit and whether doors or drawers move as intended.
Evidence to record: Assembly observations, missing parts and photographs of fit issues.
Look for scratches, chips, exposed edges, uneven coating, visible glue, gaps and surface inconsistencies. Use the agreed viewing conditions and approved finish reference.
Evidence to record: Defect photographs with location and an agreed classification.
Check operation, movement and stability where specified and feasible. Confirm any load, moisture or other instrument-based check in advance, including method, equipment and limits.
Evidence to record: Check results, test conditions and anything not performed.
Compare model details, labels, shipping marks and assembly instructions with approved artwork. Check that the item, manual, accessories and carton belong to the same configuration.
Evidence to record: Identification mismatches and missing or incorrect instructions.
Review component protection, corners, hardware bags, carton condition, quantities and packing arrangement. Define any drop or transport simulation separately rather than assuming it is included.
Evidence to record: Packing photographs, carton findings and content discrepancies.
A photograph of a defect is only the start. The report needs to connect the observation to the buyer’s requirement, the affected sampled units and the next decision.
Record what was checked, what was observed and what remains unresolved. Keep supplier explanations separate from verified inspection findings.
Furniture finding / illustrative example. This is a planning example, not a UTS client report or a completed inspection.
Choose the inspection stage based on what you need to learn and when the supplier can still act. Multiple stages can be useful for a new product, a new supplier or a recurring quality concern.
Review materials, component identity and early assemblies before repeated production errors spread.

Explore this serviceA clear scope is more useful than an open-ended promise. Sampling, special checks and testing requirements should be agreed before the assignment.
A sample inspection provides evidence about the selected units and supports a lot decision under the agreed plan. It is not a check of every piece and does not guarantee that every unexamined unit is defect-free.
On-site inspection can document observable condition and specified practical checks. Chemical emissions, flammability, durability or formal performance testing may need a separate laboratory program and suitable test samples. An inspection report is not a product certificate.
Tell us the intended market, product use and buyer requirements so the proposed inspection scope can identify any separate testing or documentation needs.
Compare product inspection and testingAgree the report content and delivery timing when booking. The result should make the scope, observations and limitations easy to review.
| Report component | What it should record | How it helps your decision |
|---|---|---|
| Scope & order identity | Products, factory, lot information, inspection stage and requirements used. | Confirm the report describes the order you intend to release. |
| Measured & observed results | Dimensions, assembly observations, function checks and findings, where included. | Separate a specification mismatch from a cosmetic observation. |
| Defects & photo evidence | Sample identification, defect locations, classifications and supporting images. | Give the supplier a specific corrective-action request. |
| Limits & next decisions | Unavailable goods, unperformed checks, access limits and items needing clarification. | Decide whether to hold, clarify, correct or arrange follow-up. |
Furniture inspection cost depends on factory location, product variety, sampling scope, assembly time, special checks and the work required to document the findings. A large flat-pack range can require a different plan from a single assembled item. Send the order details for a scoped quotation; confirm travel, reporting and follow-up charges before booking.

Practical answers for planning the scope, timing and follow-up.
The agreed checklist can cover quantity, product identity, dimensions, workmanship, assembly, function, labeling and packaging. The final scope should identify the reference documents, sample quantities and any checks requiring special tools or facilities.
Share the drawings, instructions, parts list and packing specification. The scope can include assembly of selected units, checking the hardware and component quantities, and reviewing whether instructions match the supplied parts. Confirm the assembly sample quantity before booking.
A random inspection examines a defined sample, not every piece. If you need unit-by-unit screening for a specific issue, ask about a separate full-inspection scope. Neither approach replaces an agreed product specification or necessary laboratory testing.
Arrange it when the agreed quantity of finished goods and packaging is available for the planned checks, with enough time left for corrective action. Confirm readiness with the supplier and inspection team rather than relying only on the planned shipping date.
No. An on-site inspection has a defined scope. Applicable safety or performance requirements may call for specific laboratory tests, technical documentation or certification. Share your target market and product use so the required work can be reviewed separately.
Review the evidence against your acceptance criteria. Ask the supplier for a correction plan and decide whether additional sorting, repair, laboratory review or re-inspection is needed. The buyer remains responsible for the commercial shipment decision.
Send the product list, quantities, factory city, production stage and preferred date. Include drawings, finish references, packing requirements and any special checks. UTS can review those details to confirm the scope, availability and quotation.
Tell us what you are sourcing, where the factory is and what matters most. UTS will review the details with you before the scope and booking are confirmed.
