What Goes Wrong With Packaging — and When You Find Out
Crushed or wet cartons
Weak board and damp warehouses ruin good products. Most buyers find out when the container doors open at their own warehouse.
Wrong labels or barcodes
One wrong digit and Amazon or customs stops the goods. Fixing it at destination costs many times more than catching it at the factory.
Fewer units than you paid for
Short packing shows up weeks later, when counting is no longer possible. On loading day we count every carton as it goes in.
Bad stacking in the container
Heavy cartons on top crush the bottom layers over weeks at sea. Our inspector stays at the container door until the seal goes on.

Export cartons
Board quality, dents, crushing, water marks and how the cartons are sealed. Too weak to stack? It goes in the report with photos.
Marks and labels
PO numbers, SKU codes, shipping marks and product labels — checked against your documents, line by line.
Barcodes
We scan EAN, UPC and FNSKU codes and match them to your order. A code that does not scan does not ship.
Weight and size
Cartons are weighed and measured against your packing list. Outside your tolerance, we count again.
Inner packing
Polybags, inserts, dividers, desiccant and the mix of sizes and colors in each carton — including Amazon's warning-label rules.
Loading
Stacking, pallets and the loading itself — watched at the dock when you add loading supervision to the order.

How We Sample and Judge Defects
For most orders we sample by the ISO 2859-1 / ANSI Z1.4 tables, at the level you approve. Every defect goes into one of three groups, so the report ends with a clear pass or fail.

Since 12 August 2026 the EU packaging regulation (PPWR) sets hard limits for what your packaging may contain. We can arrange the lab tests for the parts that need them.

Common Questions
What does a packaging inspection include?
We check the export cartons, the inner packing, shipping marks, labels, barcodes, weight and carton size — all against your PO and packing files. Everything we find is photographed and written into the report.
When should packaging be checked?
As early as you like. Materials and labels can be checked at the start of production, the finished packing is checked when the order is complete and at least 80% packed, and on loading day we count every carton and watch the container being filled.
Which sampling standard do you use?
For most orders we sample by the ISO 2859-1 / ANSI Z1.4 tables, at the level you approve. Defects are grouped as critical, major or minor, so the report clearly says pass or fail.
Do you check Amazon FBA packaging?
Yes. We check FNSKU and carton labels, polybag and warning-label rules, carton weight and barcodes before the goods go to Amazon.
How fast is the report?
You hear the main result the same day, and the full PDF report with photos arrives within 24 hours.
What do you need from me to book?
Four things: the product, the quantity, the factory address and the date. If you have a packing list or spec sheet, send it too. There are no travel charges and no weekend surcharges.
